Winterwhisper is a small black-and-gray tom with pale gray splotches, and icy-blue eyes, one of which is blind.

Winterwhisper is a ThunderClan medicine cat. He was born as Winterkit to an unnamed mother and his father, Blizzard. However, after his mother had passed during his birth, his father ran away from the Clans. He had been taken in as an orphan, as the Clan had assumed that his father had passed. Throughout his kithood and the early days of his apprenticehood, Winterpaw had been close with another apprentice, Widowpaw. However, his friend had been drawn towards a group of older apprentices, who had taught Widowpaw to be more cruel. This had resulted in Winterpaw straying away from his childhood friend reluctantly, befriending her brother, and Winterpaw's former enemy, Redpaw. Thanks to Redpaw, Winterpaw was able to befriend several other cats; Daisypaw, Oakpaw, Coyotepaw, Obsidianpaw, and his younger brother, whom of which Winterpaw had been closest with, Swiftpaw. After Duskpaw, a former kittypet, had joined the Clan and the group of friends, Winterpaw and the tom immediately grew close, where Winterpaw had formed one-sided feelings for the tom. This resulted in him and a she-cat who had fallen for Duskpaw as well, Rosepaw, to begin a rivalry between each other. Luckily, his friends had sided with him, realizing that Rosepaw had been rather obsessed with Duskpaw. To Winterpaw's dismay, his romantic feelings weren't returned, as Duskpaw had fallen in love with Widowpaw and ran away with her before they made it to their warrior ceremony.

Due to losing his close friends throughout apprenticehood, alongside Duskpaw, Winterwhisper had received his medicine cat name and fell into a silent, depressive state, often snapping at his Clanmates and other cats, and refusing to speak to any cat outside of Redspring. He had grown a little more social after meeting an older medicine cat, Squirrelcall, however his snappy behavior remained intact. He had been determined to find Duskpaw, whatever it took. This had resulted in success after Duskpaw had returned to ThunderClan, of which he vaguely remembered as an originating Clan of his, alongside an injured kit that Widowglare had accidentally attacked instead of him, Cherrykit. Duskpaw was unable to remember Winterwhisper at first, as he was only a vague memory to him, but Winterwhisper was eventually able to remind him after Duskwatcher had been given a warrior name.

After he had been killed by his sister, Redspring had grown hostile against Winterwhisper, Duskwatcher, and Cherrykit. Although Cherrykit had remained safe from his wrath, outside of the blindness she was given by Widowglare who had fallen under his manipulative influence, he primarily targeted Winterwhisper and Duskwatcher in an attempt to kill them both, or to drive them under his spell as well. Winterwhisper was eventually able to defeat Redspring by leaving his StarClan spirit gravely injured, albeit not deceased, as he was dragged to the Dark Forest, and Winterwhisper and Duskwatcher had become mates. Due to this failure to kill him, Redspring had rose again, manipulating Widowglare to attack Winterwhisper, blinding one of his eyes and resulting in a battle between her and Duskwatcher, and Rosefire into setting the forest ablaze, gravely injuring Duskwatcher into a weak state. Winterwhisper had broke down upon discovering his mate in such condition, blaming himself and being driven insane by the tormenting of Redspring and Rosefire's spirits. As Duskwatcher began to recover, Winterwhisper reunited with his father at last, unable to know of what to think about Blizzard, feeling both angry for his abandonment, and happy to have a father overall. Blizzard had assisted in the spiritual killing of Redspring, however, he had succumbed to blood loss after losing a leg from Redspring ripping it off. Dismayed by the death of his father, Winterwhisper had finished off Redspring once and for all, saddened by the loss of his former friend, but pushing through for the sake of Duskwatcher and Cherrypaw, later Cherryblossom.

Detailed description[]

Winterwhisper is a small, slim tom with a black pelt. He has a gray muzzle, chest, belly, legs, and the end of his tail. each streaked with pale gray on his jaw, chest, paws, and tail tip. His eyes are icy blue, given his name. After being attacked by Widowglare, his right eye had been blind, however, he was still able to see through it via necromancy.

Creator statements[]

The only reason Winterwhisper is able to see ghosts through his blind eye is due to it being a gift from StarClan due to Redspring's corruption. As a rapidly spreading infection wouldn't apply here, he isn't able to naturally get it whilst wounded.
