Pre-Detestation[]
Squirrelstripe was born to Springivy and an unnamed loner alongside his sister Branchstep. They had a normal kithood and trained as warrior apprentices. Squirrelpaw and Branchpaw were both average height, so they didn't have any special privileges.
While they were still apprentices, their mother had another litter which consisted of Rosekit and Olivekit.Their father joined the clan a few days later.
A moon before Detestation begins, AppleClan and SunClan had a border skirmish. Squirrelstripe was fighting a little too aggressively and he accidently killed Beefall. Squirrelstripe felt awful and had dreams of Beefall haunting him in his sleep. To atone for his mistake, Squirrelstripe decided to become a medicine cat to heal people and not hurt them.
Detestation[]
Squirrelstripe has been training as a medicine cat for a moon now. His mentors are Smokyshell and Primrosetuft. His little sisters are apprentices now.
At the first gathering of the comic, Daisydapple of SunClan is extremely angry at the fact Squirrelstripe is a medicine cat apprentice now. Beefall was her mate and she didn't think a murderer should be a medicine cat. Daisydapple made a whole scene at the gathering. Squirrelstripe apologized over and over but she wouldn't listen.
After a few moons, his younger sisters Rosewind and Olivesnail get their warrior names. Squirrelstripe is proud of them.

Pre-Rotting Flower[]
A couple years after Detestation ends, a drought hits AppleClan, SunClan, and SwampClan. This resulted in all of the clans to endure a massive famine. A moon after the famine started, a loner named Light decided to join AppleClan. She was inspired by what Squirrelstripe did as medicine cat, and wanted to do the same.
At first, Spiderstar refused. He said, "A cat that short would never make a good medicine cat for this clan. Her head isn't even CLOSE to the stars." Squirrelstripe was bummed out about this, but later that night he received a vision of a flash of light. StarClan had sent a sign! He told Spiderstar; Lightpaw was officially a medicine cat of AppleClan.
Squirrelstripe trained Lightpaw every day. It was hard trying to teach someone about herbs when they were all dried up from the drought. Lightpaw did the best she could; after four moons, Squirrelstripe gave her her medicine cat name: Lightwave.
Squirrelstripe didn't have long though. Even though the drought had passed, the prey wasn't coming back. He gave his food to his patients, and soon perished from starvation. His death was grieved heavily.
Rotting Flower[]
He is mentioned by Lightwave occasionally. Squirrelstripe will also appear in the background during flashbacks of when Brownstripe was a kit.
