Siwiti is a tortoiseshell she-cat with yellow eyes, scarring and a torn ear.
History[]
Morning Sun's Choice[]
- Siwiti is a member of the Beach cats, and is the mother of Morning Sun and the sister of Eve.
- She, her sister, and daughter are visiting the rockpools. Eve is noted to be heavily pregnant and Siwiti is wary of her being out and about due to this. The tortoiseshell watches her daughter play in the shallow water and collect objects for their nests when Eve does suddenly go into labor. The three cats return to the Beach cats camp and Siwiti sends her daughter away with another group member so that she doesn't witness the kitting. Siwiti helps her sister through the kitting, however, she passes away from complications but is survived by two kits - a she-kit that is named Koeye, and a tom kit named Kaikash. She comforts Morning Sun in the aftermath.
- Moons pass and Siwiti has taken over as leader of the Beach cats. She continues to mentor Morning Sun in their traditions, as well as her surviving niece. The she-cat shows growing concern for her daughter and her interest in a passing rogue. It comes to a head when the tom, Caspius, returns to the Beach cats camp with Morning Sun. He gives them all the ultimatum of leaving in peace so that he may have the territory along with Morning Sun, or that if they don't leave that he will take it by force. With his words, Siwiti notices shadows of other cats lurking around. Siwiti is faced with the hard choice between her extended kin and their safety, or her beloved daughter. Morning Sun makes the choice for her which breaks both their hearts. Siwiti takes her cats away from the Beach, leading them to the Town to escape Caspius's rogues.
Hali's Revolution[]
- Siwiti is now an elder member of the Town cats.
- When Hali seeks shelter with the group, Siwiti doesn't engage much with her, mostly due to Hali's resemblence to Morning Sun. After some time, she speaks with the newcomer due to the fact that Hali begins asking cats about Morning Sun and what they knew about her. Siwiti speaks to her privately and while sharing that she is Morning Sun's mother, she begs Hali for more information about what had happened between her daughter and Caspius. She is heartbroken to hear that her daughter is dead, and what had caused her early death. The two she-cats share the moment, both on edge about the now join hatred of Caspius and his awful ways.
- Siwiti attempts to disuade Hali from confronting her father, but fails to do so. In an attempt to protect one of her last connections to Morning Sun, she follows Hali back to the Beach, bringing along a few other members of the Town cats for support. It leads to a confrontation between the two groups of cats. Siwiti watches in horror as Caspius tears Hali's throat, and in a fit of rage the she-cat attacks the tom in retaliation. She tackles him to the ground and as she does she knocks his head into a rock, killing him in an instant. With their leader dead, his followers retreat, including one of Siwiti's grandsons, Lise.
- Moons following, the Beach cats and Siwiti return to their true home. The tortoiseshell watches happily as Hali leads the group and is expecting her first litter of kits. She thinks of Morning Sun as she does, thinking its sad that Morning Sun couldn't be there for Hali. But, she knows that she will be there in spirit and that she lives on through her kits, especially Hali and Moana.
Detailed description[]
- Siwiti is a lean, skinny she-cat of average height, however, her face leans to the thinner more angular side. She has tall ears, high cheekbones and almond shaped yellow eyes. Siwiti's pelt, unlike her daughter's pristine one, has scars underneath and one of her ears as a tear in the tip. Her tortoiseshell pelt iss a brindled mix of black and ginger flecks. A majority of her pelt is black however, with more of the ginger present along her chest and underside. Siwiti's muzzle has sparse grey flecks present due to her older age.
Personality and traits[]
- Siwiti comes from a harsher generation of cats where her love or affection can almost seem mean. She became the leader of the Beach after the passing of the previous leader. She had been appointed due to her strong belief of their ancestors but also as she had recently become a first time mother. To Siwiti her daughter is her whole world and she showed this in her day-to-day personality. Being a mother gave her the confidence to be a strong leader to the Beach cats.
- However, after losing Morning Sun to a rogue tom and his lackeys, she becomes a shell of the cat she was praised for. It led to her soon passing along leadership as she couldn't find it in herself to continue leading her beloved group. Siwiti becamse quite reserved and guarded with her feelings around those left within the true Beach cats. She remains this way for quite some moons, becoming an elder within the group and offering her wisdom and knowledge in passing. When a young cat named Hali seeks shelter in the group and speaks of Caspius, Siwiti's world is thrown upside down.
