Nightglow was born to Coalstar and her mother alongside her sister Quaildapple. Despite being the leader's daughters, neither Nightglow or Quaildapple were treated well in the clan. They were both shorter than average, which is terrible according to AppleClan's height hierarchy. They are not close to the stars at all.

During Nightpaw's apprenticeship, her father had another litter.
