Appearance[]
Lightwave is a yellow she-cat with three white teardrop markings below her left eye and a white gradient going down her tail. Her eyes are bright green. Her tail is large and wavy. She has dwarfism, so she is very small. Lightwave is also emaciated from living in a famine.
Personality[]
Lightwave is compassionate and reliable. She loves to help people. She is affable, extraverted and open-minded. She is hesitant and passive yet also indiscreet. She is heavily religious and nosy. Lightwave is also very detail-oriented.
Pre-Rotting Flower[]
Lightwave was born as a loner named Light to her mother. She never got to know her father, but didn't really care about that. She lived near AppleClan territory with her mother and siblings. Eventually her siblings got older and left their mother to be on their own, but Light stayed.
Her mother had another litter when she was about seven moons old and Light helped take care of them. She loves to help people and hates being alone. Her younger siblings also left after a few moons and she decided to stay with her mother to not be alone.
When she was 13 moons old, the drought happened. Since there was barely any water, the prey started to die from dehydration. Her mother died after a couple weeks and Light was devastated. She wondered around hopelessly, catching what she could, until she stumbled into AppleClan's camp. Many AppleClan warriors had died, and Spiderstar was eager to replace them. Light didn't like how violent the warriors were, or the fact that she was treated terribly for her height because of the height hierarchy. She noticed how there was one cat different from the others, a healer who helped people, regardless of size.
Light became Squirrelstripe's apprentice, but Spiderstar didn't immediately approve. "I don't know if StarClan will approve of someone so... short." Light didn't understand why height was so important in AppleClan but rolled with the punches. Squirrelstripe received a prophecy of a flash of light, so Light was officially given her apprentice name of Lightpaw.
She trained relentlessly, working day and night to memorize herbs and procedures. After four moons she was given her medicine cat name of Lightwave, because of her wavy tail. Squirrelstripe was charitable with his food, so he wasn't eating enough, and starved to death shortly after Lightwave got her name.
The concept of StarClan appealed to Lightwave a lot. She felt assured that her mother had a safe place to rest her spirit and loved that StarClan could give prophecies to help people out. She ignored all the people who said that only people who believe in StarClan get to go there, since her mother didn't even know about StarClan when she died.
Lightwave got to know her clanmates well since she was the medicine cat, and one of those clanmates was Blackbear. She was drawn in by his charisma and they instantly became mates. Lightwave wants to have kits with him, but it would be dangerous since she is half the height a cat should be, and that she is the sole medicine cat. Besides, Blackbear is below average height, so the kits would have a terrible future being short.
Blackbear started dating girls from other clans, but since she was "the light of his life," and "the only real one for him," she let it slide. It was getting lonelier in AppleClan with everyone dying, besides, if she didn't have the medicine cats from the other clans to talk to, she would be pretty miserable.
Rotting Flower[]
Lightwave is AppleClan's only medicine cat. Blackbear is her loving mate.
She teaches the warriors how to use herbs sometimes, in case she dies.
Relationships[]
Blackbear: Mate. She's aware he has other mates in different clans, but as long as she's his most important one, Lightwave doesn't mind.
Cherrythorn: Best friend! They're both very chatty and energetic. Cherrythorn helps Lightwave gather herbs a lot.
Squirrelstripe: Former mentor. They got along great.
Juncocry: Lightwave sees him all the time since he's always in the medicine den. She doesn't know why he doesn't like her. Juncocry is jealous that she's Blackbear's mate.
