Leafstep is a brown, tabby she-cat with amber yellow eyes[2], and a mended, left back-leg.
Leafstep was a ThunderClan medicine cat who served under Thornstar's Moonstar's, Clawstar's, Goldenstar's, Dapplestar's and Patchstar's leaderships in the forest and lake territories. She was born as Leafkit to Cinderfoot and Clawblaze alongside her brother, Nightkit, and was apprenticed as an apprentice to Moonpelt as Leafpaw. However, she was struck by a monster on the Thunderpath, sustaining a permanent leg injury that sustained her from becoming a warrior. Due to this, Leafpaw became Blindfall's apprentice as a medicine cat. She eventually earned her full name, Leafstep. She was exiled alongside Goldenstorm, Smallcloud, Dapplepaw and Crystalfur - by her father, Clawstar. Soon after Clawstar's execution, she apprenticed Fluffpaw, her brother's daughter. Sometime later, she fell in love with Smallcloud, and broke the warrior code by becoming her mate. During Vulture's invasion, she was wounded heavily and left in a coma for months. Whilst she was in a coma, Fluffpelt revealed that she was pregnant during the attack.
Unbeknownst to the clan, Leafstep gave birth to Smallcloud's kits, Rosekit, Mistkit, Blizzardkit and Firekit. However, Blizzardkit and Firekit passed away due to weakness, and whilst Leafstep went out to find herbs for her surviving kits, Mistkit was taken by a fox. Rosekit was raised by Smallcloud, and fostered by Cookie. After the secret was revealed by Roseheart, Leafstep was almost executed by Dapplestar, but was freed and forced to retire as an elder. After Roseheart forgave her, she returned as a medicine cat besides Fluffpelt and Breezepaw. Eventually, she had multiple more litters with Smallcloud, and temporarily resided in RiverClan to raise her kits, becoming a temporary medicine cat and training their apprentice, Nightpaw, who did not have a mentor. After her death, she was accepted into StarClan.

Leafkit was born to Cinderfoot and Clawblaze alongside her brother, Nightkit. From a young age, the two were very curious and caused a lot of trouble for the clan. She was very close to her brother, and another kit, Goldenkit, who would be her best friend for moons to follow. She had never known of her father, as the siblings were never told who their father was. She would hang out in the Medicine Den with Blindfall, and really enjoyed the idea of becoming a warrior- devoted to protect her clan alongside Goldenkit.
Adolesence[]

Leafpaw was apprenticed to Moonpelt, and became friends with another apprentice named Crystalpaw, and a met a small RiverClan she-cat during a gathering, who was called Smallpaw. The two formed a bond, and enjoyed each other's company during gatherings- before they snuck out to meet each other during the nights. She was saddened by the fact that Goldenpaw was interested in Crystalpaw, as she had started forming a crush on him. During her time as a warrior apprentice, she was struck and injured by a monster on the Thunderpath, and her back leg ended up being injured. She ended up unable to do her warrior duties, and was forced into the medicine den with Blindfall, as his apprentice. She was extremely stubborn and refused to do her duties, until her brother, Nightpaw, was injured during a battle with badgers. His eye had been blinded, and she managed to heal him. She assumed this was a sign that it was her destiny to be a medicine cat, so she stayed with Blindfall- however, was saddened by the fact she wouldn't be able to take Goldenpaw as a mate.
Smallpaw eventually joined ThunderClan, but didn't want to be named as a true member. She spent a lot of time with Leafpaw, and started slowly obsessing over her, finding herself to despise Goldenpaw. Due to Nightpaw's injuries, he was renamed to Scarredeye, and their mother, Cinderfoot, was killed by the RiverClan border without reason. Leafpaw was deeply saddened by this, and Smallpaw stayed by her side to comfort her. When Ebonysong's kits fell sick, Leafpaw set out to find herbs. She approached RiverClan for help, but when Kestrelbranch refused to grant her herbs, she set out to WindClan territory. She eventually found Lungwort with the help of Cookie but is unsuccessful with trying to save Ebonysong's kits. She is deeply troubled by this and Blindfall explains that a medicine cat cannot cure everything. After her ceremony, Leafpaw gained the name Leafstep, as she wanted to name herself after what she's survived.
Adulthood[]

The last three held on so long, but it wasn't enough. I would do anything to see them again, to watch them grow but that wasn't meant to be. Leafstep worked as a medicine cat besides Blindfall, who she worried was becoming old. She was exatic to hear that her brother had become Moonstar's deputy, and was unbeknownst to the fact that Smallcloud had an unhealthy obsession over her, to the point she was murdering cats. She was neutral with the news that Smallcloud had become Scarredeye's mate, as she knew she couldn't have a mate of her own. Eventually, humans ended up invading the forest and capturing her brother, Scarredeye, and she was distressed- trying to stop them to no avail. She had believed him to be dead, before he returned to the clan with a pregnant mate named Flowerstream, and Smallcloud had manipulated the siblings, pretending to be saddened and hurt. This caused Leafstep to leap at Flowerstream, but Scarredeye protected her, gaining an injury on his cheek. Leafstep ended getting scolded by Blindfall, and felt awfully guilty. She was the first to know about Smallcloud's secret, that she had been previously named Vixenkit- and was a transgender she-cat. Smallcloud had also told her about the dark forest, and how she had to stay loyal to them. Leafstep promised not to tell anyone, but worried about Smallcloud.
Due to Scarredeye's disappearance, Goldenstorm became the new deputy. Now that he had returned, he agreed with Goldenstorm keeping the position. A few moons after his kits had been born, Scarredeye was struck by a monster and killed. Leafstep and Goldenstorm had dragged his body back to camp, devastated to find that his kits had witnessed it. Leafstep had to explain harshly to Flowerstream and their kits that he was now in StarClan. A deep tragedy had struck the clan as Moonstar was murdered, and Clawblaze accused Goldenstorm of murdering her. Goldenstorm was exiled alongside Crystalfur and Dapplepaw, who chose to follow. Clawstar had become leader, and Leafstep remained in the clan to help those who were suffering. She was shocked by the news that Clawstar was her father, and she gathered information for Smallcloud, who would work as a spy for the alliance. Crystalfur was murdered by Clawstar while protecting Goldenstorm and eventually, Clawstar was overthrown by his own clan and murdered, and Leafstep returned to the clan to the realisation that Blindfall had died in the fire, where she mourned him. She became secretly mates with Smallcloud, and watched as Goldenstar became leader. She remained loyal to him, despite her secret.
Leafstep took on one of her brother's kit as an apprentice, Fluffpaw. The two became extremely close as medicine cats, and Leafstep thought it had reminded her of her own relationship with her deceased mentor. Many seasons later, during Vulture's invasion, Leafstep was wounded heavily and left in a coma for moons. Fluffpelt had revealed to Smallcloud that she was pregnant during the attack, and swore not to tell anyone, after Leafstep had awoken, she was devastated to find out about Goldenstar's death. Shortly after Snowfoot joined ThunderClan, Leafstep gave birth by the old owl tree. She gave birth to four kits, Rosekit, Mistkit, Blizzardkit and Firekit. Unfortunately, Firekit and Blizzardkit died shortly upon weakness, which forced Leafstep to leave the den to find herbs for her two remaining kits. When she had returned however, Mistkit was taken by a fox- and she had only managed to save Rosekit. She eventually falls asleep while protectively holding Rosekit in her paws.
The next morning, she covers Rosekit protectively with her body as she hears pawsteps. She believes it to be another fox coming their way and she unsheathes her claws, but instead, Smallcloud appears alongside Fluffpelt. Smallcloud tears up at the sight of her daughter and licks Leafstep's nose, asking about the other kits. Leafstep mentions that they're dead and she buried them, whilst Smallcloud feels hurt and anger towards herself. Fluffpelt announces that she must leave to take care of the Clan and that Leafstep and Smallcloud should migrate further, so that a patrol doesn't risk finding them. Leafstep and Smallcloud move further towards an abandoned den in RiverClan and they raise Rosekit until she is one moon old.
Upon their return to ThunderClan, Smallcloud lies that Cookie is Rosekit's father, and Leafstep is heartbroken that she cannot be a part of her daughter's life. When Fluffpelt suggests visiting the Moonstone, Leafstep's skeptical, as she feels guilty for allowing her kits to die, especially Mistkit. Fluffpelt retorts that it wasn't her fault, and Leafstep replies that they probably won't want to see her anyway.
