Jumpingstar was the second leader of BloodClan, and the first leader after it was officialized. She had previously served under Bloodstar's leadership, and had formerly lived as a loner. She was born to unknown cats alongside her sister, Darky, as Jumping Bean, but was quickly abandoned. After that, a loner named Virggi quickly took them under his wing, and raised them as his own. Eventually, when Blood was putting together his mock clan, Darky was eager to join, despite Jumping Bean's clear disdain of the tom. Jumping Bean and Virggi tried to talk her out of it, but failed. So, Jumping Bean decided to follow her sister, reluctantly. The two said goodbye to their adoptive father and joined Blood's group, eventually being renamed to Jumpingbean and Darkfang. Very quickly, Darkfang fell in love with their fellow traveller, Steelclaw. The two quickly became mates, and Jumpingbean was happy for her sister. Eventually on the journey, the cats discovered Hues, who was barely the age of an apprentice and all alone in the wild. He quickly joined the group, and was renamed Huepaw. He was apprenticed to Bloodthirst.
It wasn't until Bloodstar took Reed that Jumpingbean started to see that Bloodstar wasn't just petty and irritating, but a genuinely horrible cat. Despite her dislike for her leader, Jumpingbean followed along. She wasn't perfect, but she wasn't horrible, like Bloodstar. That's how she would justify her staying. In the end, it was sort of a regret for her that she hadn't acted sooner and had allowed Bloodstar to do the horrible things he did.
Still, Jumpingbean wanted to prevent Bloodstar from turning Huepaw into a horrible cat like himself. So she would unofficially train him in more than just combat. In the end, she had an effect, and Huepaw turned out to be a great warrior.
When Beestar offered to make MaliceClan a true clan, the clan, now BloodClan, decided to select Jumpingbean as their leader, much to her suprise. Hollowfoot walked Jumpingbean to the Starry-eyed Rock, and she was granted her nine lives, and renamed Jumpingstar. Afterwards, she worked hard to rebuild her clan, and grew admired by some of the other cats in her clan. She dealt with skirmishes from Bloodstar and his rogues often, but eventually allowed Stripedleaf a chance at redemption, giving him sanctuary as a prisoner. She then later mentored Toothfang after the apprentice had been rescued from Bloodstar's rogues.
