Jackalsight is a tall, sleek, well-muscled brown, orange, and white tabby tom with slate-blue eyes, sharp ear tufts and tail-tip, a white stripe on his back, and a white tail with stripes. His muzzle and chest both have a white dash.

Jackalsight is the current LakeClan deputy under Silentstar's leadership in the snow forest territories. He was born during Witherstar's leadership to Oceanbreeze and Lastpool with his brother Vulturestorm. Apprenticed to Witherstar himself, he later earned his warrior name and became popular in his clan, though Vulturestorm grew resentful. He was a loyal and courageous LakeClan warrior, respected from a young age for his bravery and sense of fairness. As an apprentice, he received a StarClan vision that led him and his companions to recover the Rattlesnake's Tail, restoring the gathering place. His renown grew further when he saved his patrol from a fox, though these successes continued to stir jealousy in his younger brother, Vulturestorm.

He later mentored an apprentice, Orchidstem, and he continued showing his honor again when he returned a stolen rabbit to SnowClan. When Reefstar’s betrayal was uncovered, Silentstep rose to lead LakeClan as it's acting leader and chose Jackalsight as his acting deputy. Soon after, Jackalsight joined a patrol to rescue SnowClan cats taken by The Circle. The mission succeeded, and during the journey he formed a quiet bond with Forestdawn, a connection that lingered even as the clans fell into turmoil. But The Change brought Jackalsight great sorrow. His mother, Oceanbreeze, was infected and cast out, while Vulturestorm abandoned the clans entirely to join The Circle. Despite these personal losses, Jackalsight remained determined to protect his clan. In the final battle, he confronted his brother in combat and fought to free Forestdawn and the other slaves. Soon after, when the Cave of Stars was restored, Silentstep became Silentstar and Jackalsight became LakeClan's official deputy.

Later, Jackalsight became mates with Servaltail and fathered Kindlekit, Smoulderkit, and Abysskit. After Smoulderkit’s death at Kindlekit’s paws, he somewhat neglected Kindlekit.

• His father Lastpool was the last of his litter, hence his name.

Mistakes

• He was accidentally called a calico tabby.
• Jackalsight was written in the Eyes in the Dark/Allegiances as deputy of LakeClan under Reefstar's leadership, however this was not true because Jackalsight was Silentstep's acting deputy at the time.
• He was depicted with white fur around his face.
• He was made deputy under Silentstar while still mentoring Orchidpaw, his first apprentice. This did not follow the Warrior Code, and therefore ashes had to change Orchidpaw's warrior ceremony to be before Jackalsight's deputyship.

Author Statements

• If he was a human, he would either be brunette or blonde.
• ashes wished she could make his age younger so that his love for Forestdawn was less weird, but she decided that he needed to be old enough to be chosen deputy in Darkness Rising.
• She also says that Pecanear may have had feelings for Jackalsight during their rescue mission.
• 'Jackalsight' is one of ashes' favourite names.
• Ashes thinks that 'Jackalsight is the Sonic to Forestdawn's Shadow'.

Detailed Description

Jackalsight is a tall, lean, well-muscled, brown and ginger tabby tom, with a white tail that has brown and ginger stripes, white hind legs, a white dash above his nose and on his chest, and a stripe of the same color on his back resembling a jackal's marking. He has a pointy tail-tip, tall and pointy ears with dark, sharp tufts, a cream-coloured muzzle and eyelids, dark brown front legs with darker paws and stripes, pinkish-grey inner ears, a slight ruff, and narrow, slate-blue eyes with slit-like pupils.

Personality and Traits

Jackalsight is charming, charismatic, brave, loyal, protective, responsible, and playful. He often puts himself in danger for the sake of his clan, like when he goes on the rescue mission to save SnowClan cats and later fights The Circle. He also shows loyalty to his family, though it conflicts with his sense of justice—he initially struggles with his brother Vulturestorm joining The Circle but ultimately defends his clan over family. He is also shown to courageous, assertive, thoughtful and frank. However, his personality could be somewhat immature, slightly impulsive, brash, and slightly egocentric and prideful, such as when he argues with Forestdawn and triggers her anger, or when he throws his opinions on topics that don't involve him. He was also known to be adventurous, curious and ambitious as an apprentice, like when he insists on joining the quest with his friends, showing a strong sense of personal conviction. He doesn’t give up easily, even when facing wolves and danger.
