Houndsmirk is the current acting deputy of ShadowClan under Thistlespark's leadership, and previously served as a warrior under Marigoldstar's leadership.

A Heart Of Marigold[]
Houndsmirk callously murders Marigoldstar and covers it up with rumours blaming Thistlespark and Brindleslip for the murders, and putting on an act and pretends to help Hearthsong and Dappledawn with the investigation.
She is made the acting deputy by Barkspawn during this period.
Her Faults[]
Houndsmirk approaches Mercury, a cat apart of Hackdirt's group, whom she is talking to about her plans to next murder Hearthsong, and later tells her about the prophecy she heard "the outsider who will be leader" who she believes is about Mercury's father, Hackdirt.
Upon Hackdirt's approach, Houndsmirk tells him about how he'll rule the Clan at the end of her murder spree.
She also mentions the legend of "The Fallen", a once great group of cats who fought the clans under the rule of their leader, Servan before being defeated, and mentions how she wants to bring them back.
