This is Fennecslash, you may be looking for his Mirror version: Fennecstrike.
Fennecslash is a light brown tabby tom, with lighter front legs, a missing tail and blue eyes. He has a scar running over his left eye.
History[]
Kithood and Apprenticeship[]
Fennecslash was born as Fenneckit in SoilClan to Vixenslash and Foxstar. He has little memory of his mother, as she died of greencough when he was a kit. He was raised by Foxstar up until his disappearance when he was an apprentice as Fennecpaw, apprenticed to the Clan deputy, Stoatheart. He was then cared for by Henfur, a she-cat that adopted any orphaned/abandoned kits and apprentices.
As an apprentice he was constantly in trouble with other members of the Clan, who all claimed that he had been stealing from them and being a general menace. Stoatheart didn't have it in him to follow through with Barkstar's (fill-in leader) punishments and instead just scolded him each time there was a complaint, despite Fennecpaw's protests that he hadn't done anything.
Starting Warrior Life[]
The day he became a warrior, Fennecslash started seeing visions of his father in the many "Mirror Pools" around the caves SoilClan called home. Foxstar commanded him to go to his den, which Fennecslash complied with.
He finds a collar buried in the corner and takes it. Exiting the den, he sees a large Nightjar flying around; before it disappears, he tries to follow it but has no luck catching up. He looks around the area he'd ended up in and sees two Dark Forest cats crawl out of a Mirror Pool and straight to an oblivious she-cat, causing him to instantly jump into action and defend her despite her confusion. He watches as she's knocked into a Mirror Pool before a dark brown tom comes out and saves her from drowning and then defeats the Dark Forest cats. The tom then demands the collar off Fennecslash, who refuses and flees, causing the tom to give chase.
He trips into a Mirror Pool and ends up in a different place, almost identical to where he just was but now with a large Dark Forest tom in front of him. The dark brown tom appears next to him and helps him defeat the tom. The Nightjar then appears and swoops down at Fennecslash [1]. The dark brown tom shows him how to use the Mirror Pools to traverse each area and Fennecslash jumps into one and wakes back up in his body, slightly soggy from being in one of the Mirror Pools. He runs off before the tom can come back. The tom eventually finds him and confronts him, demanding the collar again, until they see the Dark Forest tom from before attempting to drag a cat into a Pool. They both leap to defend him and Fennecslash ends up bonding with the Nightjar. The dark brown tom tells Fennecslash that he has chosen this life now and runs off before explaining.
While searching for the tom he runs into the she-cat from earlier, who quickly begins talking to him. She introduces herself as Goosesong and gives him a charm that had fallen off the collar. He goes with her to her den to chat after she claims she has a theory about his Dad's disappearance, introducing him to her aunt: Sunflower, and her friends: Daisyglow and Dustywind. [2]
The First Enemy[]
Later on, while wandering around, he sees a more alive-looking cat in the reflection of a Mirror Pool gesturing for him to come in. Thinking they would be friendly, he goes to see them but is instantly cornered into a fight. The cat fights alongside a Crab-plover. Fennecslash, realising he can't defeat an older warrior and the bird, flees back to the main world.
He flees to find Goosesong and chats with her about her theory. He finds out that she is working with another cat, named "SW," to figure out why Dark Forest cats are attacking and that she also believes they're the ones responsible for Foxstar's disappearance. Pondering the information, he sees the ginger and white tabby tom calling him from a Mirror Pool and goes to fight him again. Fennecslash barely defends himself before the dark brown tom arrives to help chase the tabby off, before forcing Fennecslash to train with him. [3]
While leaving, after an awful performance from himself, he demands the tom tell him what's going on. He finally learns the tom's name: Cloudywing, and also learns that he was never meant to be a Bird Warrior and that he has ten cats hunting him down, which he is not happy about. They briefly test out his new fighting skills by beating a Dark Forest she-cat.
He and Cloudywing meet up with the ginger and white tom, learning his name is Flashfur, and watches as Cloudywing and Flashfur fight in the Mirror Clan. He watches Flashfur get killed and fade away before Cloudywing comes back and tells him to get rid of Flashfur's now comatose body. He questions what happened and is told that if he's killed in the Mirror Clan, he can't return to his body, and his spirit gets trapped. He takes it upon himself to train; he can't allow that to happen to himself. [4]
Briefly allying with Cloudywing[]
He trains by fighting another enemy in the Mirror SoilClan; he's still quite bad but doesn't give up until the tom flees out of sight. He then leaves to go find Goosesong, telling her about what happened with Flashfur and how he's scared it'll happen to him but is interrupted by Cloudywing, who takes him away to talk.
Fennecslash tells him that he doesn't want to be a Bird Warrior anymore but is told that he's already bonded and can't unbond unless his spirit is trapped in the Misty Plains, but if they work together, they can protect each other. He agrees to this and joins Cloudywing as a team.
They find the Dark Forest tom from earlier and go to fight him along with forgotten souls, known as 'Newts.' Once they defeat him, they leave the Mirror Pool and briefly see Harshstar in the reflection before the pool drains. Fennecslash learns that Harshstar is the reason Mirror SoilClan is so barren and that Main SoilClan is next unless they find a way to stop him. [5]
---
Friendship with Darkbug[]
The two go back to Fennecslash's den to eat, and he asks Cloudywing about what actually happened between the Mirror Team. He's told that the original Nightjar Warrior stole the collars and gave them to Harshstar, but he doesn't know why.
They then go into a Mirror Pool because Cloudywing sensed danger. They fight some Newts before Fennecslash gets distracted by Blackstripe and chases him, quite easily defeating him before Darkbug leaps to attack him. Fennecslash is confused when Darkbug says he'll kill him for allying with Harshstar. They stop fighting, and Darkbug tells him that Cloudywing was the cat who sent the other team to the Misty Plains and gave the collars to Harshstar. Fennecslash is hesitant to trust him, so he tells him to follow him. He watches Darkbug be pinned down by Cloudywing, then sees Harshstar, in a Mirror Pool, tell Cloudywing to finish him off so the Bird Warriors can be erased. He notes that Cloudywing is confused and hesitant, leaving time for Darkbug to flee before Cloudywing chases.
He catches up to Cloudywing and confronts him, asking that if he were working with Darkbug, would Cloudywing send him to the Misty Plains before running off. He briefly fights Blackstripe's brother, Whitestripe, when Darkbug comes and helps him before asking how he feels about Cloudywing now. [6]
---
They discuss how Fennecslash feels about being betrayed by Cloudywing before Goosesong runs up and tells Fennecslash that she'd found his father. The three sneak into the rogue territory where Goosesong and Dustywind had found Foxstar. He desperately tries to wake his father up but has no luck. Turning to Darkbug, he begs him to know a cure and is hesitant when he's told that they'd need to kill Cloudywing and Harshstar to get it. A rogue then catches them but only sees Goosesong and Fennecslash, as Darkbug had already fled.
Stoatheart comes, after being brought by the rogues, and tells Fennecslash that he'll give him permission to see his father when he wants, so long as he tells no one about the cats kept there, as they didn't want to panic the Clan. He storms out of the den and snaps at Goosesong that he's going to find Cloudywing and take him down. Goosesong questions him, asking if he truly believes that Cloudywing would do this.
He runs off and into the Mirror Pools, where he fights two Dark Forest Warriors: Nightbuck and Daydoe. The Nightjar helps him defeat Nightbuck before he turns and sees Cloudywing fighting Daydoe before another tom attacks him, Duskdeer. The two work together with their Bat Falcon and Nightjar to defeat the two warriors before Fennecslash turns to him and argues about Cloudywing being with Harshstar.
Cloudywing follows him out of the Mirror Pools and questions him about what he's been up to. He tells him what Darkbug told him about there being a cure for his father and is angered when Cloudywing tells him the cat with the cure went missing the same time the collars were stolen. Fennecslash snaps that he's just defending Harshstar before running away.
He meets Darkbug in his den, and the two toms agree to work together, Darkbug "helping" Fennecslash get his father back and Fennecslash helping Darkbug get rid of Harshstar and Cloudywing. [7]
---
The two go to eat before sensing a Dark Forest cat in the Mirror Pools and reluctantly go to fade them. During the battle against Sharktooth, he notes that Darkbug doesn't seem to care if he injures him while he's fighting, having made Sharktooth attack Fennecslash multiple times. Frustrated, Fennecslash calls his Nightjar to help him fade Sharktooth.
Despite wanting to go rest, Darkbug tells him he isn't allowed because Cloudywing could also be near. The two toms see Cloudywing fighting Dark Forest cat, Fingrin. Fennecslash is hesitant to fight Cloudywing, but Darkbug says that if he wants to save his dad, he'd have to kill Cloudywing. They run into Patchclaw, who starts bickering with Darkbug before running off. Darkbug chases him, and Fennecslash runs after him, saying if they're on the same side, why fight?
He fights Patchclaw after Darkbug is winded and can't fight, but instead of harming him, he saves him when he sees Darkbug attempting to cause a rockslide. He kicks Patchclaw out of harm's way before scampering out of the way just in time. He goes searching for Patchclaw afterwards and finds him stalking Darkbug. Attempting to be friendly, he announces his presence but is shoved away by the tom. Now having no choice, he pins Patchclaw to force him to listen to what he has to say but is interrupted by Darkbug.
He argues with Darkbug, refusing to kill him like Darkbug wanted him to. He loosens his grip and allows Patchclaw to flee before Darkbug could grab him. He gets yelled at and attacked by Darkbug for allowing Patchclaw to leave.[8]
---
Back with Cloudywing[]
In his den he is yelled at by Darkbug again, being berated by the tom for not listening to him and doing everything wrong. Fennecslash goes to defend himself but is interrupted by Goosesong's voice over a walkie-talkie she'd given him, telling him that Cloudywing needed help and Darkbug was a liar working for Harshstar. Darkbug commands him not to listen, stating that Cloudywing must have fed her the same lies before they go to find and defeat the tom.
Upon entering the Mirror World they come across Patchclaw and Fennecslash takes his chance to try and convince Patchclaw to stop working for Harshstar and instead work with them but is met with confusion from Patchclaw, stating he doesn't work for any Harshstar. Darkbug attacks the tom before he can question him.
Eventually he manages to get Patchclaw alone and tells him about Harshstar's plans to take over SoilClan by recruiting warriors to fight for him. Darkbug appears and condescendingly asks how long it took him to figure that out before attacking Patchclaw while the tom's back is turned. Fennecslash then finally realises that Darkbug wasn't the cat he thought he was and that Cloudywing and Goosesong were right all along.
Frozen in shock at the realisation he can only watch as Flashfur fades the tom, watching his spirit pass to the Misty Plains before Darkbug turns on him. He trips over while attempting to scurry away but is saved by the injured Cloudywing, who tackles and chases him off. Fennecslash apologises and helps the limping tom to his den. [9]
---
He gets to his den and helps lay Cloudywing down so the tom can rest. He tries to apologise but Cloudywing and Goosesong both reassure him that it wasn't his fault and that Harshstar and Darkbug had treated him unfairly. He then backs up Goosesong when she questions why Harshstar sees to be after random cats rather than the most powerful in the Clan.
A picture Cloudywing hands him shows a cat identical to him with Cloudywing and Cloudywing tells them only cats the same as their Mirror Clan counterpart can activate the collars powers so Harshstar is tracking down those cats. The two sense cats in the Mirror Pool and Fennecslash has to force Cloudywing to stay put and rest while he goes.
All he finds is a group of Newts which he starts fighting, defeating all but one. He went to chase the last one before another cat, a light tabby tom, scared it off and demanded to know what he knew about the Warrior Club. Fennecslash tells him he has no clue what he's talking about before running off to find and defeat the Newt, which he does alongside the Nightjar.
Later that day he wandered around the Mirror World in the darkness, searching for a Dark Forest cat he had sensed. He comes across Inkwhip and fights him, being evenly matched before the light tabby tom helps him defeat him. [10]
