Pre-Detestation[]
Cliffstar was born to Bearfang and Bloomspeckle. He was an only kit and was loved an incredible amount by his mother. Their relationship was amazing. His father wasn't around.
Cliffpaw was apprenticed to his uncle Coaltuft. When Cliffpaw was an apprentice, Bloomspeckle lost her life fighting against SwampClan. He was named Cliffbloom after his deceased mother.
He is very tall and gets whatever he wants since he is in the elites, the tallest people of AppleClan. He has a huge ego, and his uncle, Coaltuft, is currently the deputy. Another relative of Cliffbloom's is currently leader. For a few generations, Cliffbloom's family has been leading AppleClan because they have all the tall genes. Cliffbloom knows he is destined for leadership.
The current leader dies and Coalstar is the new one. Cliffbloom becomes the deputy. He finds a mate and has a few kits. His tallest son is named Flintjaw.
Life for Cliffbloom is normal until a new warrior named Spiderlight is the official tallest cat in the clan. Spiderlight isn't a part of Cliffbloom's family, so Coalstar and Cliffbloom plan to not give him an apprentice. Spiderlight is begging for an apprentice since he can't officially challenge Cliffbloom for deputy status until he's had one. Coalstar and Cliffbloom have to deal with this for a year.
Coalstar was getting old, and eventually he died. Cliffstar is the new leader, and his son Flintjaw is deputy. Cliffstar is getting annoyed by Spiderlight and Vireopath's begging, so he finally gives them apprentices since he has all 9 of his lives and won't be dying soon.
Cliffstar doesn't like how the elders don't do anything, so he forces them to do warrior duties. At first, some of the other cats in the clan supported this action, but Cliffstar was getting a little extreme and over working them. Flintjaw wanted to help the elders, but was scared of what his father would do to him if he did.
Eventually, the queens had to start hunting for their kits as well. The warriors started to get angry at Cliffstar. He says that he's been graced by StarClan to have nine lives, so the people against him pipe down in fear of being exiled.
For the first six moons of his leadership, he sends AppleClan into many wars, and loses two lives. AppleClan does gain new territory to hunt in through these wars, so more kits are being born.
After Spiderlight is finished training his apprentice, he challenges Flintjaw for the deputy position. Cliffstar doesn't let Spiderlight fight Flintjaw, but Spiderlight had a back-up plan since he knew that would happen. Vireopath, Tallbirch, and a few others started yelling at Cliffstar that what he was doing was against the code. He ignored them at first and told Flintjaw to organize patrols. Flintjaw refused. After a few minutes, almost everyone in camp was yelling.
Cliffstar caved in and let Spiderlight challenge Flintjaw. Cliffstar hoped his son would not show any mercy. To his surprise, Flintjaw surrendered immediately. Cliffstar was extremely disappointed with his son. Spiderlight was officially the new deputy of AppleClan.
Cliffstar didn't let Spiderlight do anything as deputy though. He organized all the patrols and refused to let Spiderlight sort out any problems. Spiderlight would yell at Cliffstar all the time and try to manipulate him, but Cliffstar didn't listen to any of it.
Two moons later, Cliffstar decided to get rid of the elders once and for all. He killed all the elders in cold blood. They didn't go down without a fight however, and managed to take 4 of his lives. Dewrose, Spiderlight's grandmother, was one of the elders, and he was outraged at her death. Spiderlight and Cliffstar fought tooth and claw, and eventually Spiderlight took the last three remaining lives of Cliffstar.
Cliffstar is dead. He goes to the Dark Forest for breaking the warrior code and killing the innocent elders of his clan.
Detestation[]
Badgerglow explains the leaders of each clan to Dawnpaw, and says that Cliffstar is the leader of AppleClan. At the gathering, Stonestar, the leader of SunClan, is surprised to see Spiderstar. "Wow... Cliffstar wasn't even leader for a year." Spiderstar says he was a terrible leader who shouldn't have been leader at all. Stonestar looks at all the nasty wounds Spiderstar received from his fight with Cliffstar. He made a pretty good assumption that Spiderstar killed Cliffstar, but didn't say anything about it.
Many moons later, Leafbird goes to the Dark Forest after trying to kill Dawnstar. She stumbles upon Cliffstar one day, and they become acquainted.
