Appearance[]
Blackbear is a black tom with gray stripes on his face, the lower half of his back, and the upper half of his tail. The inside of his ears are gray as well. His eyes are yellow and angular. Blackbear's tail is short and fluffy and his fur is thick. Blackbear is shorter than average and is quite muscular despite being emaciated from a famine.
Personality[]
Blackbear is a womanizer. He's chill and his humor is his biggest strength. He traumadumps frequently. He rarely gets angry. He hates people telling him what to do, but doesn't voice this to avoid others getting mad at him.

Pre-Rotting Flower[]
Blackbear was born to Darkbranch and Streamivy alongside Ashstep and Finchtail. His parents were always there for him, especially his father who didn't want to be like Blackkit's grandfather. When he was around 4 and a half moons old, the drought started and many AppleClan warriors died. At the start of the famine Spiderstar and Flowerfoot still had morals, so him and his siblings got to eat because of the warrior code.
He became an apprentice at the age of six moons old. Blackpaw was apprenticed to an unknown warrior of tall stature. Blackpaw and Spiderstar had the same eyes because he was Spiderstar's grandson. Spiderstar never talked to him though and ignored his son and grandchildren. A couple moons into his apprenticeship, Juncopaw became an apprentice and they started training together a lot. They became friends despite everyone else being scared of Juncopaw (he is extremely violent.)
The drought caused a famine and there were not many opportunities to hunt. Things were so bad, Blackpaw's first mentor died from starvation. His new mentor was named Dovelace. She isn't very smart, but she knew how to manage things well and was a great cat to be around. Blackpaw appreciated her very much.
In Blackpaw's and Juncopaw's free time, they battle trained and became really good at it. Despite being the best apprentices at fighting though, Spiderstar didn't notice them because he didn't want to associate with his grandson or his apprentice's mentally unstable brother. After Juncopaw's second mentor quit, his third mentor Icesnake separated Juncopaw from the rest of the apprentices and so Blackpaw couldn't hang out with his best friend as often.
Blackpaw and Juncopaw didn't care though and hung out in secret. Dovelace even told Icesnake where Juncopaw "was" so him and Blackpaw could spend more time together. She would keep watch in case Icesnake came looking for Juncopaw. Blackpaw was grateful for Dovelace.
Eventually Blackpaw became a warrior named Blackbear due to his protective nature and bear-like stature. A month after he became a warrior his mom died from starvation and his father and sister left the Clan. Before his father left though, Darkbranch yelled at Spiderstar and Spiderstar replied for the first time in moons. Blackbear grew to dislike Spiderstar over time because of his selfishness and unaccountability.
After the death of his mother and mentor, Blackbear became really close to his brother Ashstep. All of their other family was dead (or considered dead), and Spiderstar wouldn't talk to them. Ashstep became severely depressed though, and ate deathberries to go to StarClan. Blackbear was horrified when his brother offered him some too and watched as the life drained from Ashstep's eyes.
Blackbear was miserable but didn't want to take the easy way out like his siblings and father did. To fill the void in his heart, he started talking to the medicine cat Lightwave. They became mates and Blackbear was happy. He got sad again after a while and started talking to this SwampClan warrior named Timberskip. They had kits when Blackbear was two years old. Blackbear visited them as much as he could when they were old enough to leave camp. They hunted together sometimes and Blackbear could eat much easier since SwampClan has way more food available than AppleClan. Over time, he got bored of Timberskip and visited her less often. He lied that he had extra duties since way more warriors had died since him and Timberksip met.
When Blackbear was two years and two months old, he met Shimmeringsky from SunClan at a gathering. She was the leader's daughter but most of the Clan saw her as his son. Blackbear respected her identity though and they became mates. They couldn't have kits but Blackbear didn't want another set of kits to visit anyway. During this time he was given Skypaw as an apprentice. Spiderstar actually recognized his fighting talents and trusted he would be a good mentor. Skypaw was a month younger than she should of been but that was so the Clan could get slightly more food. (AppleClan overhunts so much and they don't even realize until the middle of the comic smh.) Skypaw died at 7 moons old and Blackbear felt guilty for not bringing her some of the extra food he gets from Timberskip and Shimmeringsky.
Blackbear and Juncocry are still besties and Flowerfoot assigns them to almost every patrol together. Juncocry has noticed all of Blackbear's relationships and gets annoyed whenever Blackbear starts flirting with she-cats from the other Clans. One day Juncocry asked Blackbear to be his mate but Blackbear declined because he wasn't gay. They remained friends and Juncocry was envious of all of Blackbear's mates.
Rotting Flower[]
Spiderstar dies and Blackbear is happy about his death. Blackbear doesn't like how Flowerfoot is leader now because of her cowardly nature but doesn't let it show. He is friends with Juncocry and Cherrythorn and is mainly mates with Lightwave. She is aware of his relationships with Timberskip and Shimmeringsky, but doesn't mind since everyone is lonely in AppleClan.
